The Versatility of Arkansas Drag Queens.

Over the past week, I’ve had a chance to experience the versatility not just of Drag Queens, but of Drag as an art form.

On Saturday, we saw 4 incredible Drag Queens – the People’s Courte – put on a wildly entertaining show at Sierra Tavern in Morrilton, Arkansas. Morrilton, Arkansas, is an hour from Little Rock, and deep in the heart of MAGAt country.

That Drag Art and culture and beauty can reach into the deepest and darkest corners of MAGAt-land gives me hope…and speaks to the courage of the tavern owners and employees.

On Sunday, the beautiful and gracious Vanessa Rayne, a Drag Queen from Ft. Smith, Arkansas, came all the way to Little Rock for a Holiday Drag Reading Hour.

She read some Christmas stories to about a dozen children and their parents, and performed a couple Christmas classic songs.

And on Monday, I hosted a private photo shoot with Aubi Gold – a Little Rock, Arkansas, Drag Queen who recently won the Ms. Gay Phoenix Rising 2022 crown.

I am fascinated by this art form, and would like to do more studio and on-location work with Drag Queens, Artists and Performers….as well as the queer community in general.

I have been invited to be the official photographer of the Miss Gay Central Arkansas Pageant in April 2023.

And if you are a Drag Queen based out of Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, or Tennessee, I’m offering a free 2-3 hour studio session, in my Little Rock studio, to help build your portfolio, use as marketing materials, or just to feel beautiful. Click here to request a free studio session.
