Through photographs, I process my emotions about the war in Ukraine.

My ancestors are Galician, Ruthenian and Rus – all from what is now Western Ukraine and Eastern Poland.

Though I have never been there, and did not know this side of my family very well, I feel a powerful and inexplicable connection to the people and the land.

War betrays human dignity.
